Homestays in India have always been popular among budget travelers. However, this is no longer the case because homestays in India are no longer modest. In this regard, the homestay experience is comparable to that of a luxury resort.

If you stay in one of the beautiful homestays, you will enjoy every moment because you will be greeted with a warm and welcoming welcome.

Homfortable Loshgyani

Homfortable Loshgyani, is one of the best homestays in Mukteshwar. The retreat is constructed with a strong connection to and dialogue with nature. It subtly blends a sophisticated, opulent vibe with the natural alpine charm.

The living areas have been thoughtfully renovated to maintain their beauty.

The estate is encircled by a stunning 360-degree panorama of a deep Oak and Deodar Forest, sparsely spaced farms, fruit orchards, and, on clear days, a 180-degree view of the snow-capped Himalayas.

About 10 miles from Mukteshwar, this 2-acre villa is beautifully situated on a tabletop. It is the ideal location for leisurely, gradual travel.

It is an unconventional, experiential & a boutique stay in Uttarakhand.

Sunnymead Bed and Breakfast is located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Sunnymead isn’t like other bed and breakfasts. You don’t just get a bed at Sunnymead; you’re welcomed into an exquisite Colonial-style ancestral property with a rambling English cottage garden.

And you’re not just served breakfast; you’re treated to an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Sunnymead is unquestionably a unique property in Shimla. It was an ancestral home before being restored and converted into a bed and breakfast in 2011.

Inside, it’s filled with family heirlooms that blend in beautifully with the modern touches that have been added.

The entire top floor is dedicated to guest accommodations. There are four bedrooms, each with its bathroom. The bedrooms, like the rest of the house, are beautifully decorated in classic style with contemporary accents.

The main guest room’s focal point is a solid wood four-poster bed.

The Homestead, Corbett, Uttarakhand

The Homestead at Corbett is technically a homestay. The luxurious accommodations and excellent facilities, on the other hand, make it feel more like an intimate resort. The understated approach to The Homestead hides nothing of the property’s grandeur. When you arrive, however, it is imposing enough to take your breath away.

The Homestead is the ideal location for some well-deserved pampering. Alternatively, if you’re feeling daring, the great outdoors and farm life are just waiting to be discovered.

Shahpura Bagh, Rajasthan

Look no further than Shahpura Bagh for a luxurious and authentic royal experience. This remarkable property was the summer residence of the rulers of Shahpura, set on 45 acres in the vast Rajasthani countryside midway (five hours) between Udaipur and Jodhpur.

It is now a working farm estate with neem, Ashoka, peepal, and mango trees, cows, peacocks, and other birds.

The estate has two residences: the 19th-century Nahar Niwas, which is still the family home, and Umaid Niwas. Umaid Niwas, originally built as a guest house for visiting nobility,

has been restored with six suites and all the amenities of a luxury hotel. The suites are tastefully decorated with antique furniture from the period and royal paintings.

The current raja (king), his two sisters, two nephews, and their wives and children make up the royal family. They enjoy interacting with guests and telling them stories.

Olaulim Backyards, Goa

Olaulim Backyards is a homestay haven where you can truly reconnect with nature. The homestay is located in Olaulim village on the Goa backwaters, about 30 minutes from Panaji, Goa’s capital.

It is managed by a Finnish-Indian couple who live there with their two children and a zoo of pets (three dogs, one cat, two goats, and a naughty donkey).

The couple has added three delightful cottages to their property for guests, each one unique in size and decor.

The cottages are all located on different levels of the backyard foliage and have views of the coconut groves, paddy fields, and swimming pool. Although the cottages are rustic in appearance, they are not lacking in comfort.

The bathrooms are particularly memorable; built in a tropical style, they’re partly open-air, allowing you to shower against a backdrop of the Goan sky and towering trees.

Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay, Rajasthan

Experiencing an authentic Rajasthani village is becoming increasingly popular in India, and Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay is among the best. This homestay is located in Salawas village, on the outskirts of Jodhpur, and belongs to an enterprising family of weavers.

Devra, Udaipur, Rajasthan

Devra Homestay, located 10 minutes from Udaipur, could be described as a colonial-style farmhouse with a focus on a natural and organic lifestyle.

Devra means tribal temple in the local language, and the local villagers worship in the host family’s temple by the house. The scenery around Devra is breathtaking.

Panoramic views of hills and farmland extend in all directions, all the way to the City Palace. Each guest room has a window seat with a view of the mountaintop Monsoon Palace. The entire house has been tastefully decorated, with large sitting areas, balconies, and terraces.

Fort Rampura, Rampura, Uttar Pradesh

Fort Rampura homestay has one of the most spectacular settings in India, in a 700-year-old fort that speaks volumes about a bygone era. Rampura, located in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, is not mentioned in any tourist guidebooks. This provides visitors with a truly authentic experience.

Despite the property’s size, the homestay only has three guest rooms. This leaves a lot to be discovered. You could spend hours just exploring the wonders of this imposing Fort, such as the many living rooms that house countless unique and priceless artifacts, rugs, and furniture.
